On Friday, Jefferson, my computer, went blind. I took it to the store but they couldn't do anything for him. He needs a new display that will cost 300 Euros. Now I am stuck at my parents' house because I have to use their screen (where I at first chose to be but now can't leave for obvious reasons.) Argh! But my friend offered me her computer screen until I can have mine repaired. Still, what do you have a laptop for when you can't move around with it!! But at least I can finish my papers and save some money first. Think I'll get Jefferson repaired while I am in London so he'll be all fixed when I start with my thesis in September. Poor blind little computer.

His name is Jefferson because the computer I had before was called George and I thought I'd stick with US presidents. The old computer was called George because my friend (who studies something with Russia and speaks Russian) had a computer named Jurij, so I had the American counterpart. And though she came up with that name because of Bush, I still claim that it referred to Washington. :)
